Beatrice ZatorskaCure Parkinson’s Spring Research Update Meeting once again took place at the renowned Royal Society of Medicine, Wimpole Street, London where we invited guests to an inspiring agenda of some of the most up to date news of our funded research.
Theme: the impact of the International Linked Clinical Trials (iLCT) programme
Linked Clinical Trials (iLCT) programme aims to repurpose existing drugs that have shown promise in other diseases and test their effectiveness in people with Parkinson’s. Now in its 12th year, the iLCT initiative was the subject of our latest research update meeting focusing on advancements within the programme. We featured two key-note presentations: Professor Per Svenningsson presented on the upcoming montelukast phase 2 clinical trial testing an anti-inflammatory drug, while Professor Olivier Rascol provided insights into the results from the phase 2 LixiPark study testing a diabetes drug.
