Supernus Pharmaceuticals plans to make Onapgo (apomorphine hydrochloride), a newly approved treatment for motor fluctuations in advanced Parkinson’s disease, available in the United States by summer. Onapgo is a subcutaneous apomorphine infusion device approved for continuous symptom management, offering a non-surgical alternative for patients experiencing off episodes when standard medications wear off. Unlike on-demand apomorphine injections, Onapgo delivers a steady dose through a portable electronic pump for up to 16 hours daily, improving symptom control. Clinical trials showed significant reductions in off time and increased good on time. Supernus will also provide a patient support program, Circle of Care, to assist with education, pharmacy coordination, and insurance coverage.
