Listening to music based on the rhythms of people’s individual Parkinson’s tremors worked wonders for their wellbeing, scientists have found. It made them feel more relaxed and physically comfortable which, in turn, alleviated other symptoms that are typically exacerbated by stress, such as depression, sleep disorders and apathy, researchers said. In a project scientists hope could change the way Parkinson’s is treated, they recorded the tremors of five patients by attaching watch-like devices called accelerometers to each arm and leg, which measure changes in motion.
