A new study from Nagoya University found a link between gut bacteria and Parkinson’s disease (PD). Researchers discovered that PD patients have fewer gut bacteria that produce essential B vitamins (B2 and B7), which may weaken the intestinal barrier and cause brain inflammation. This suggests that B vitamin supplements could potentially treat PD. The study also highlighted the importance of gut health in preventing toxins from reaching the brain and causing inflammation. Researchers are hopeful that by analyzing gut bacteria and providing targeted B vitamin supplements, they can slow down or alleviate PD symptoms.
