The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research and Parkinson’s UK have awarded Mission Therapeutics a $5.2 million grant to develop MTX325, a potential treatment for Parkinson’s disease. This grant supports the clinical trials of MTX325, which has shown promise in early tests with healthy volunteers. MTX325 targets an enzyme linked to Parkinson's and aims to alter the disease's progression. The trials will soon include Parkinson’s patients. The funding will help assess the drug's safety, effectiveness, and proper dosage. Researchers believe improving mitochondrial health could significantly impact Parkinson’s treatment.
