June 13, 2025
A Master's student at Durham University is investigating whether people with Parkinson’s or Progressive Supranuclear Palsy find it difficult to read and recognise emotion based on bodily movements.

99 people between the ages of 55 and 85
33 people with Parkinson’s
33 people with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy
33 people without either of these conditions
With access to a computer or laptop
What is involved?
Taking part in an emotion recognition task on a computer or laptop
Completing 2 online surveys about your mental and physical health
The task and surveys will take 30 minutes to complete
People with Parkinson’s or Progressive Supranuclear Palsy will also complete a 10 minute survey about how your condition affects your everyday life
