The Michael J. Fox Foundation is dedicated to finding better treatments and a cure for Parkinson’s disease. Both individuals with and without Parkinson’s can contribute to research efforts. These studies are currently seeking participants: Parkinson’s Progression Markers Initiative (PPMI) – Open to anyone 18+ in the U.S., this study aims to explore how brain disease develops. Free smell tests are also available for those 60+ without Parkinson’s, as smell loss can indicate early risk. LUMA Study – Sponsored by Biogen, this study evaluates a drug to delay Parkinson’s progression in early-stage patients (diagnosed within the past two years, aged 30-80). ATLANTIS Study – Sponsored by UCB Biopharma SRL, this phase 2 study tests a drug for those with Parkinson’s (diagnosed 5+ years ago, aged 35-85) experiencing fluctuating motor symptoms.
