Parkinson's Voice & Speech Exercise videos ✨The MAGIC of MUSIC based activities in Neurological Recovery ✨ As a speech-language pathologist it became evident to me many years ago how incorporating music and rhythm-based activities into my therapy sessions could assist my neuro clients in improving speech, language, voice and cognition. I seriously had some miracle moments...✨ The fates aligned when an SLP colleague of mine introduced me to Kiersten Kanaster. Kiersten facilitates Beyond High C, a program of live online group video classes in real time every week where people with Parkinson’s Disease and survivors of stroke and brain injury come together to engage with each other and fun upbeat music to relieve social isolation, depression and anxiety while striving to continue to improve speech and cognition. Classes feature upbeat, “singable” songs and opportunities to connect with peers. In addition to running her own hour long programs on Zoom, Kiersten hosts a 15 minute rhythm and music session for us EVERY week on the Get LOUD! Stay LOUD! forum to help our PD members target their voice and speech goals in an enjoyable, energetic environment. Kiersten has a Masters of Music degree in voice pedagogy and performance. She has been a professional musical theater performer and has experience teaching singing in a variety of settings to students of many ages and diagnoses. She LOVES using technology to bring people together online! For more information on Kiersten's Beyond High C program: https://beyondhighc.com/ For additional information on Get LOUD! Stay LOUD!
