A Cookbook for people with with Parkinson's Disease with Emphasis on Dietary Antioxidants and Omega-3 Fatty Acids

Research shows that oxidative stress (OS) and inflammation contribute to the brain cell damage seen in PD. Antioxidants and omega-3 fatty acids, found in foods like fruits, vegetables, and fish, may help reduce this damage. Therefore, a healthy diet rich in these nutrients could potentially slow the progression of the disease. Given the limitations of existing treatments, there is a need for new strategies to target PD progression. One approach could be creating a cookbook for PD patients that focuses on antioxidant- and omega-3-rich recipes, helping them manage oxidative stress and inflammation through diet. This could provide a practical, everyday tool for patients and their caregivers. This publication is a practical guide on how to manage a PD diet and provides science-backed evidence. Ideas for recipes are included.
